Rabac History and Culture
In the 19th century, Rabac was a small and picturesque village oriented
on the fishing as the major economic activity. Home people where the
majestic fishermen, sailors, windjammer owners and excellent cooks
because the vicinity of the sea and old fishery tradition. The
immigrants started to visit and even stay in Rabac and build their
villas. The village slowly but securely started to grow into the
settlement. Another undertaking was when one of those new comers
built a first hotel named Quarnero in the year 1889. Today, the
tradition still remained in every corner of this picturesque settlement.
It has developed into a real tourist place surrounded by amazing beaches,
pine trees shade, hidden bays and coves.Mediterranean sky gave to Rabac
different charm and with reason announced this small place the Pearl of
the Kvarner Bay.
Rabac Nightlife
The promenade along the sea coast, known as the Lungo Mare stretches
through out the Rabac. It is the amusing center where are settled all
the restaurants, taverns, pizzerias, coffee bars, ice cream bars and
alike objects. From the beginning till the end of the promenade are
placed the benches with the original Croatian souvenirs and various
things.The sea side placed Hotels which organize the live music concerts
with home bands, live dance shows and singing contests on their
terraces.
