Naselje se razprostira okoli majhnega zaliva Žmanšćica. ŽMAN, je naselje in manjše pristanišče na severovzhodni obali Dugega otoka, 7 km severozahodno od naselja Salija. Starejši del naselja leži nad obalo v notranjosti, novejši del pa ob zalivu Žmanšćica. Pred obalo se nahajata otočka Krknata in Krava. Gospodarska osnova je poljedelstvo, vinogradništvo, ribištvo in turizem. Naselje se nahaja ob regionalni prometnici, ki poteka skozi cel otok. Žman se prvič omenja  v XIII. st. pod imenom Mežano. Mestna cerkvica sv. Ivana se omenja v XIII. stoletju od takrat ni obdržala prvotne oblike.

ZMAN  
The village extends around the small cove of Zmanscica. Thanks to the nearby fertile fields, guests in boarding-houses are offered home-made food, and they find Zman to be the right place for quiet family vacations.

ZMAN, a village and small harbour on the eastern coast of the island of Dugi Otok, 5 km northwest of Sali; population 328. The older part of the village is situated above the coast, in the hinterland, while the newer part extends along the coast of the cove of Zmanscica. The islets Krknata and Krava (Vaka) are located off the coast. Chief occupations include farming, viticulture, fishing and tourism. Zman is located on the regional road running along the island.

Zman was first mentioned in the 13th century under the name of Mezano. The parish church of St. John (a three-nave basilica) was first mentioned in the 13th century, but its original aspect has changed since then.

Allgemeine Informationen
Der Ort breitet sich um die kleine ZmanSCica-Bucht aus. Da sie in der Nähe eines fruchtbaren Feldes liegt, schließt die Verpflegung der Pensionsgäste gute Hausmannskost ein. Zman ist der ideale Ort für einen geruhsamen Familienurlaub.

Ausflüge: s. SaliZMAN, kleine Hafenortschaft an der Ostküste der Insel Dugi otok, 5 km südwestlich von Sali; 328 Einw. Der ältere Ortsteil liegt im Inselinneren, oberhalb der Küste, der neuere Teil an der ZmanSCica-Bucht. Zman sind die kleinen Inseln Krknata und Krvava (Vaka) vorgelagert.

Erstmalige Erwähnung im 13. Jh. unter dem Namen MeZano. Die Pfarrkirche St. Johannes (dreischiffige Basilika) wird seit dem 13. Jh. erwähnt, ist jedoch nicht in ihrer ursprünglichen Form erhalten geblieben.
