Useful information

Otok Drvenik MaIi

Drvenik Mali is an island in the Adriatic Sea that belongs to Croatia.

The island, on which there are two lighthouses and a settlement of the same name, lies 18 km northwest of Trogir. Its surface measures 3.42 km². The length of the coastal strip is 12,024 km. The highest point is the 79 m high Glavica. The coast is strongly divided and accessible everywhere, the most beautiful sandy beach is in the bay of Vela Rina. The island, which the locals call Ploča, has 60 permanent residents (2001 census), living mainly in the Mali Drvenik settlement, which consists of five hamlets (Doliči, Male Kuknjare, Petomovar, and Vela and Mala Rina). Access to the island is possible with the ferry line from Trogir. There is no water supply on the island.

Below the settlement, in the bay of Borak, there is a smaller completely enclosed harbor with a breakwater in the shape of an extended letter Z and an elbow pier where the ferry docks. Inside the harbor, which is accessed by a 10 m wide entrance, another smaller pier is pulled from the breakwater. At the pier, the sea is up to 4 m deep. There is also a rafting boat in the port. The port is open to north-westerly winds, and it is not recommended to land on the north side of the pier during a gale.
